In Tirana, the international conference NanoBalkan 2023 was held.
During the opening ceremony of the conference, the President of the Western Balkans University, Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Gjana, signed the cooperation protocol with the NanoAlb Research Unit, part of the Academy of Sciences of Albania, represented by Prof. Dr. Arben Merkoçi. This conference features 115 speakers from various countries around the world. NanoBalkan 2023 is organized by the Phantoms Foundation from Spain and the NanoAlb Research Center, Academy of Sciences of Albania.
The conference is attended by Nobel laureate Prof. Kostya Novoselov from NUS Singapore, along with prominent figures in science such as Prof. Joseph Wang from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), USA, who has received numerous international accolades, and a group of distinguished researchers who are ready to open the event with their presentations. The Western Balkans University is represented at this conference by Assoc. Prof. Albana Halili and PhD Candidate Ergi Hoxha, as well as three students: Geldon Hoxhaj, Arilda Zhejani, and Franci Brahollari, with three presentations.
