Western Balkans University becomes a member of the Alps-Adriatic Rector’s Conference (AARC). Represented by the President, Prof. Ferdinand Gjana, General Assembly which took place in Salzburg at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, welcomed the WBU as the new member of the AARC.
 
The Alps-Adriatic Rectors’ Conference (AARC) is a network with over 40 universities from the Alps-Adriatic area, including the Western Balkans since 2011. The main goal of AARC is to promote transnational dialogue and cross-border cooperation in the fields of university education and scientific research between Higher Education Institutions across the region, as well as transdisciplinary cooperation with different partners in the spheres of culture, industry, the arts, business, and public institutions.
 
AARC cooperates with the requisite institutions of the European Union in scientific research and in the different cycles of higher educational training, including life-long learning. 
 
During the meeting of the General Assembly, it was held also the ceremony of the scientific awards to best Ph.D. dissertations and master theses. The applicants to this award were students, graduates, and Ph.D. graduates from institutions in the Alps-Adriatic region who have written a scientific thesis focusing on the Alps-Adriatic region’s issues.
